What is the Solar System ?

The Solar System is composed of the Sun and all bodies that travel around the Sun, including the planets, moons, asteroids, meteoroids and comets. The Sun is the center of the Solar System. Our solar system has an elliptical shape and is part of a galaxy known as the Milky Way.

The nine planets in our Solar System are Mercury, which is closest to the Sun followed by Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Pluto is the smallest planet and Jupiter is the largest planet.
