People have been fascinated by Space for thousands of years. In space, we have the planets, moons, galaxies and stars. Space reaches farther than astronomers can see. With the invention of the telescope, astronomers began to discover what the universe is like. Today data that is collected by telescopes is fed into computers. The Hubble Space Telescope floats in space at 370 miles above the Earth. It can see galaxies that are billions of light years away.

Today astronauts can spend years in space by living on space stations. A space station has air for the astronauts to breath and it has solar panels which use the sun's rays to create electricity. A space shuttle is used to take astronauts to and from the space station.
