Uranus

Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun and is the third biggest planet. Uranus takes 84 Earth years to orbit the sun. A day on Uranus is 17 hours 14 minutes. There are at least twenty seven moons that orbit Uranus. In 1977, it was discovered that Uranus had rings. Uranus is covered by green and blue clouds. The atmosphere of Uranus is composed mostly of hydrogen. Uranus was discovered by William Herschel in 1781 with his telescope. Uranus was named after the Greek God Ouranos. Unlike other planets, Uranus is tilted sideways. It is believed that Uranus was knocked into a tilted position by a huge collision billions of years ago. Uranus is extremely cold and is -346 degrees F. at its cloud tops.
